A Holiday Amaryllis Workshop

Six Dutchess Floral Workshop | Live, In-Person Class

A Holiday Amaryllis Workshop
from $125.00

Taught by Jennifer Kouvant at Six Dutchess Farm

Join us for an intimate wintry workshop at the farm! Create some holiday magic this season in our new farm floral studio. We’re shining a big, bold spotlight on majestic Amaryllis and giving you all the tools you need to create your own gorgeous potted Amaryllis Gardens for the holidays.

Amaryllis are tender tropical plants that have been around for centuries. In colder climates, they are most often associated with winter growing and holiday gift-giving. When gardens are sleeping in the coldest months of the year, Amaryllis begin their exquisite bloom, inside the warmth of flower-loving homes. Over several months, their long, green stalks produce a delightful succession of large blooms, which brighten any home.

Amaryllis are easy to care for and the perfect inspiration for thoughtful holiday gifts and arrangements. Of all the varieties available, Dutch Jumbo Bulbs stand out for their enormous size and sturdiness, and for the ability to produce exceptionally large blooms.

During this 2-hour hands-on Amaryllis workshop, we’ll pamper you with seasonal nibbles and drinks while introducing you to our collection of stunning Dutch Amaryllis bulbs, many flowering in December. You’ll learn the history of these gorgeous flowers and all the particulars of how to care for them, pot them, nurture them, and save them from one year to the next! During the second hour of our workshop we’ll guide you in making your own beautiful Amaryllis Gardens—potted bulb arrangements decorated with exotic mosses and foraged finds from the farm. You’ll have your pick of bulbs, pots, compotes and decorative trimmings to adorn your homes for the holidays and beyond.

This workshop includes an Amaryllis bulb/s of your choosing, a pot or compote, soil, fresh greens and mosses, foraged finds from the farm + a farm tour (weather permitting). You choose at check-out the number of bulbs for your design!

All participants will receive a 10% discount off on-farm purchases on the day of the class!

Refreshments will be provided.

This class will be limited to 12 participants, first-come, first-served. One ticket per person.

PREPARATION

A Holiday Amaryllis Workshop is a live, 2-hour in-person workshop in the floral studio of Six Dutchess Farm. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

ACCESSIBILITY

Access to the workshop space requires navigation through open farmland. If you use a wheelchair or require other mobility aids, please let us know in advance so we can prepare to assist you.

PET POLICY

Please note, dogs or any other animals (aside from registered and trained service dogs), are not allowed on the premises due to the presence of livestock. No exceptions will be made. If you require the assistance of a service dog, please let us know at the time of registration.
