A Farm Visit for Winter Tulip CSA Members
Six Dutchess Floral Tour | Live, In-Person Event
Led by Jennifer Kouvant at Six Dutchess Farm
Join us for an intimate behind-the-scenes walk-through of our winter tulip grow space. This exclusive private Six Dutchess farm visit is for members of our winter tulip CSA. Not a member yet? You can sign up here! See how specialty tulips are grown indoors during the coldest months of the year and join us for a guided winter farm walk while enjoying freshly-baked treats from our friends at Back Cove Provisions.
Tulips are a mainstay of our cut flower program at Six Dutchess Farm. While they bloom in the field during springtime, during the winter months we “force” them inside our floral studio with the help of temperature control and grow lights. Winter tulips enable us to grow flowers all year long and provide fresh flowers to our winter floral CSA and local Hudson Valley farmers markets.
During this Sunday morning farm visit, you’ll learn how we grow over 20,000 winter tulips in a small converted duck house. You’ll see our rooting and grow spaces and get a walking tour of the farm. And to make this day even better, you’ll enjoy hot beverages and freshly-baked pastries form our friends at Back Cove Provisions. You are welcome to bring one guest with you. If you wish to bring a quest. please select a quantity of 2 below.
Please note this Farm Tour is for Winter Tulips CSA members ONLY. There is no cost for the tour, but you must pre-purchase a 5-week Winter Tulip CSA share to participate. If you wish to join our Winter Tulip CSA, you can purchase a share here.
